Colors
Keep it bright!
Light, bright colors work best.
Designs are created using Pantone Matching System (PMS) codes for the colors. PMS codes are used to communicate colors in a common language. Since each computer monitor displays colors a little differently, this helps in getting the colors you expect. However, even with this system the colors are still only an approximation.
If you would like to specify particular colors for your design, please send me the codes from the Color Picker. Again - keep in mind that these are only an approximation. Also the colors tend to look a little brighter on your screen than they do on the actual tag.
Tag Size
About the size of a quarter
Keep in mind that the tags are very small - about the size of a quarter. Simple, clean designs work best. The design I send is a large graphic so you can see the full detail easily. But be sure to pay attention to the smaller version in the upper right corner. This will give you a better feel for how the tag will actually look.
Metal Choice
New metals!
I don't recommend using dark colors on black nickel (see example) but light colors do work well on the lighter metals. The design is often misleading in this case as the raised silver lines often look washed out. But they will be very visible on the actual tag.
Pathtags.com now offers 4 metal choices. Click on the thumbnails below to get a closer look:
